Sonya's Garden

More than five years ago, March 31, 2001 to be exact me and my two crazy friends Wildflower and Prudence decided to embark on a roadtrip. We were celebrating Wildflower's birthday, and Prudence heard of a place where the ambiance is great and the food is good. So off we embarked aboard Prudence's new red Ford Lynx. I was still then employed at an IT company and would never hesitate to feign sickness just to escape my humdrum existence in a corporate environ. Prudence made reservations and asked for directions from the proprietor thru SMS. With an empty stomach but bolstered with anticipation we left the concrete jungle of Makati around 10 in the morning. We headed toward the general direction of Tagaytay. Around 12 noon or lunch time we were still in the middle of nowhere and have no idea if we were anywhere closer our destination. Around 2pm we started doubting the intelligence of our decision to venture out of town because of word of mouth. We started chanting "This better be worth it." over and over again. Thirty minutes more or so we finally reached the place...... Sonya's Garden.... an enchanting garden nestled in a nondescript location. The place is more than worth the long drive. It looks like a secret garden.

Fast forward to August 5, 2006, more than 5 years since my first visit. Wildflower, Prudence, Starfish, and I visited Sonya's Garden again. This time we're aboard Prudence's brand new gray Toyota Altis and I am now studying to be a nurse. Sonya's Garden have also changed. They now have more amenities to offer. They have a gift shop, bakery, spa, and they now even offer bed and breakfast. There is now even a signboard that will welcome you to the place. Actually I even later learned that they now have a website. I dont know if should be happy about all this, our secret hideaway is not such a big secret anymore.
