Authentic Italian and French Chef

My niece have been telling me for the longest time to try this sort of hole in the wall Italian restaurant tucked inside the Marikina Shoe Expo. I don't even know if this complex/compound is still called as such because I have never gone to this place since I was in grade school. The place was then more famous for custom made shoes.... and yeah I used to have my shoes custom made when I was in grade school... because that was the norm then ok...and it was eons and eons of years ago. She's been raving about how good and affordable the food and also that the chef and proprietor is Italian.

Anyways since my best friend Tuding is in town for a brief respite from her nursing responsibilities in College Station, Texas I decided to bring her to this place. The place is not that great but not bad either...also, I didn't go to this place for the interior design anyways. For appetizers we ordered grilled sea food... actually the menu is written in Italian with an English translation unfortunately I forgot to note down the Italian words. The grilled sea food tasted great... I did not taste any spices to enhance the taste. I liked it that way because sometimes the spices tend to overpower the main ingredient... in this case however you can really taste and somehow feel the fresh flavor of the sea... and it is quite tasty and serves it purpose as an anit-pasti.

Tuding had a late merienda that's why she just opted to have caesar's salad. I on the other hand had pasta with pesto sauce. Previously when I am trying out a new Italian restaurant I usually ordered for Carbonara.. if the carbonara is not good then it is not worth a second visit. However these days I am pesto crazy.... I love the color green and also the taste brought about by the fusion of basil, olive oil, and nuts.... it wouldn't hurt if arugula is added to the concoction. Anyways the pasta with pesto sauce tasted excellent... kudos to the authentic Italian chef of Bellini's.

After enjoying Italian cuisine we opted to watch a movie. Tuding rarely watch a movie in the US. In her more than one year and a half's stay in Texas she had seen only one movie. We watched the advance screening of Ratatouille at Gateway. I enjoyed and loved the movie's color and animation. The lead character Remy is so endearing... the movie's song although in french was surprisingly enjoyable and really pleasant to the ear. Bon appetit!

Transformers

Woohoo! I just saw Transformers yesterday and the movie rocks big time. I have seen all the sequels of previous years blockbusters like Spiderman 3, Pirates of the Carribean 3, Ocean's 13, Fantastic 4 and they have somehow failed to measure up with my expectations. But dude not with Transformers..... the movie is packed with action and the screen blasts with awesome visuals. This movie is my favorite popcorn flick so far for this year!
